Iconic set from ‘Westworld,’ dozens of films burns in wildfire

The historic Western town area at Paramount Ranch where many productions were filmed has been destroyed by wildfires in Northern California. Those sets can be found at the show's home base at Melody Ranch in Santa Clarita and have not been impacted by the fire. "We do not have any details or photos, but it is our understanding that the structures have burned".

Old West-style buildings used in the production of HBO's Westworld, as well as in other shows and movies, have been destroyed by the fast-moving Woolsey Fire now sweeping through Southern California.

While the show has taken quite a different direction in the season two finale and it is still unclear if they were planning to shoot there in season three, the set is still iconic, and it's a pity what happened!

The main sets for the HBO series, including the central town of Sweetwater featuring the Mariposa Saloon and the train stop, have not been affected, as those are located Melody Ranch in Santa Clarita. "This area is an active part of the incident and we can not access it".

The site just south of the 101 Freeway in Agoura has been the location for famous film and TV shoots since Paramount Pictures leased the ranch in 1927.

The sets, which have served as the home of projects like Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, American Sniper, and The Love Bug, has most recently been used by the HBO series Westworld.

Unfortunately, as a result of the Woolsey fire, the set has burned down at Paramount Ranch. The network said that the show, which has been renewed for a third season, wasn't in production and that it doesn't yet know the extent of the damage, according to the news agency. HBO said it did not know extent of the damage and expressed concern for "all those affected by these awful fires".

The Woolsey fire, which started in Simi Valley near the Rocketdyne facility in the Santa Susana Pass, according to ABC 7, is currently affecting Los Angeles and Ventura counties and is now threatening Malibu.
