Trump threatens to revoke more White House press passes after Acosta

Trump threatens to revoke more White House press passes after Acosta

He insulted Acosta, saying "I don't think he's a smart person but he's got a loud voice".

An independent video production trainer tells the AP a video tweeted by the White House on an interaction between CNN reporter Jim Acosta and an intern appears to have been manipulated to make the reporter's actions look more aggressive.

Initially, the White House said Acosta placed his hands on an intern who attempted to take a microphone away from him.

During a morning media availability, a reporter asked Trump how long he was going to leave CNN reporter Jim Acosta in the "penalty box".

The heated exchange began after Acosta clung to the microphone and persisted with questions about the president's repeated and angry denunciation of a caravan of poor Central American migrants making their way through Mexico to the USA border.

When Acosta tried to ask further questions, Trump became angry, demanding that the reporter sit down and give up the microphone.

"I watch her get up", he said Friday.

The video above shows a comparison between the original moment released by ABC News, and the clip shared by the White House. "You have got to treat the White House and the office of the presidency with respect". Furthermore, during his press conferences, the president has a right to tell a reporter that his turn is up and that he is moving on to another person.

What is it? An untitled series starring Tom Hiddleston as Loki , half-brother of Thor and Asgard's most mischievous inhabitant. Beyond that, we've heard about a few other shows in the works which will most likely appear on Disney +.

"Nobody manipulated it. All that is is a close-up", said the president, who then attacked the reporter for asking the question and called him "dishonest".

Acosta and Trump have sparred numerous times, with neither man hiding their contempt for each other.

Acosta has served as a White House correspondent for CNN since 2013 when he covered the Obama administration. CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them.

As of now, Sanders still hasn't removed the video of addressed the accusations that it is doctored.

Corey Lewandowski, Trump's former campaign chief, said on Boston Herald Radio about Democrats feeling emboldened after midterm wins: "We're starting on the wrong foot".

A number of prominent journalism advocacy groups have come to Acosta's defense and called for an immediate restoration of his press pass.

In a later tweet, Sanders said the White House stood by its decision. In the 1970s, President Richard Nixon tried to get Washington Post reporters banned from the White House. "We will, however, never tolerate a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern". And I think that some people like to grandstand and be part of the story, there is no question about that.

Social media has lit up after a stoush between President Donald Trump and CNN reporter Jim Acosta, with rival camps trying to claim the higher ground.
