BORDER BREACHED: 'Frustrated' Migrants 'Breach' US-Mexico Border

The caravan migrants reportedly know that once they're in, they have to be processed and it's hard for the United States to throw them out.

It was not clear who the three people were, what their ages were or where they are from.

"Frustrated" members of the Central American "migrant caravan" began "breaching" the US-Mexican border this week; jumping a ten-foot tall fence in a last-ditch effort to reach the United States before returning to their country of origin.

While many ran to try to escape capture, most walked up to Border Patrol officers and surrendered.

Karen Mayeni, a 29-year-old Honduran mother with three children aged between 6 and 12, told Reuters that she was standing by and watching others penetrating the border and "waiting to see what happens".

Ninety minutes later, she and her family were over the fence.

About two dozen migrants climbed over the border wall separating Mexico from the U.S. near Tijuana on Monday. "So we're looking forward to seeing how much further this goes but at the same time preparing and making sure our agents are ready to handle these situations", said U.S. Border Patrol Agent Joe Romero, according to the report. They'll be turned over to ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] for appropriate processing. They were well organized.

McAleenan discussed the difficulties the agency is facing in the San Diego sector, where members of a migrant caravan have arrived at the U.S. border, in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday. "They were brought to the border by a group that told them they would be able to cross easily into the U.S.to present asylum claims, and that's not the case".

The remaining migrants were taken by bus to the new shelter about 10 miles (15 kilometers) from the border crossing at Otay Mesa and 14 miles (22 kilometers) from San Ysidro, near where people line up to file applications for asylum in the United States.

The commissioner added that these scenarios are being played out every day at the border.

McAleenan also noted that criminals leading these caravans give the migrants misleading information about the muddy asylum process in the US, meaning they profit off migrant families because of the weak immigration laws. "It's a huge challenge that we need to work with Congress to address. We've got criminal organizations profiting off of vulnerable families, charging $5000-$7000 per person".
