It should be noted that it's now unknown whether Foxconn is planning to move its existing iPhone assembly from China to India.

Apple is attracting more Android users to iOS this year since launching its latest iPhone models, a new survey found. However, the company has kept its higher-end iPhone production in China, where iPhones have been assembled since their initial release in 2007.

The report said Hon Hai's investment will be made to expand the production capacity of its existing plant in Sriperumbudur in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.

According to a Reuters report, Apple will start assembling it's iPhones in India via the local unit of Foxconn.

In India, currently, Apple has partnered with Winston Corp in Bengaluru to manufacture lower-cost iPhones, I.e., the iPhone SE and the iPhone 6s models, which make a decent number of sales in our market, considering the lower pricing.
