Netflix no longer offers in-app subscription options on iOS devices

Netflix's apps, of course, fall into the latter category and gave users a quick and trusted way of paying for their subscription via Apple iTunes without having to handle payment details over to Netflix. As with iTunes, Android users who signed up for Netflix could no longer pay for the service through the Google Play store, likewise saving the company the cut Google would take from each subscription payment. The change comes four months after the company had tested bypassing the iTunes billing option in 33 markets around the world.

iOS users can also now double-tap on either side of their screen to skip forward and backward between scenes. 'We no longer support iTunes as a method of payment for new members, ' a Netflix spokesperson told VentureBeat on Friday. The development was first spotted by VentureBeat.

An in-app subscription is far more easy and simple from user's point of view, as it uses the Apple billing info you've already got set up on your iOS device. The welcome screen in the app will just show the Sign In or Recover Password buttons.

Whether you are a new customer or returning customer, Netflix had officially discontinued the in-app subscription feature on the iOS version of the subscription streaming service.

Netflix is not the only one that is escaping from Apple's and Google's fees, as Spotify, Fortnite and Steam have also chose to skip the iTunes and Google Play payment method.

Netflix made a similar change involving Google Play and the Netflix on Android app in May of this year.

Both Google and Apple take 15 percent of each in-app sale, down from 30 percent previously.
