Looking To Lose Weight In 2019? Here's The Best Diets Rundown

There are so many to choose from, but according to the U.S. World News Report, the best of 2019 is the Mediterranean Diet.

This is the second year in a row the U.S. World News Report chose Mediterranean as the best diet of the year. For 2019, the Mediterranean diet took home the top award.

Developed by researchers at the National Institutes of Health, the DASH diet focuses on reducing high blood pressure with low-sodium foods, which include vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low-fat dairy and lean proteins.

It's based on lifestyles from countries along the mediterranean sea.

Judges voted on 41 diets and ranked them in nine categories, including Best for Weight Loss and Easiest to Follow. "It reinforces that everything we've been told about dieting and weight loss does remain true". The most successful diet is one that you can stick to.

The DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet was created to help manage blood pressure, but experts say it has many overall health benefits, helping it nab the number 2 spot on the best overall diets list. The Mediterranean diet has been praised for its health benefits for decades.
