LG confirms 8K OLED and LCD TVs for 2019

It's the next generation of the technology sitting at heart of both its OLED and LED-backlit LCD TVs, and it's one that will also work with LG's ThinQ AI platform, a technology that works with voice recognition across webOS and Google Assistant to control parts of the smart home and answer questions.

LG Ahead of CES 2019 in January, LG announced three new soundbars: the SL10YG, SL9YG, and SL8YG. The TV line-up is said to be revealed at CES 2019 along with the CineBeam Projector. Other features in the new standard include an enhanced audio return channel (eARC) as well as variable refresh rate (VRR) and automatic low latency mode (ALLM) to keep gamers happy. LG 2019 TVs with ThinQ AI also feature visually rich Alexa experiences when playing music, checking the weather or accessing a number of visually-enhanced skills, such as finding recipes on the Food Network.

All the new OLED sets for 2019 will come with HDMI 2.1 too, allowing for high-resolution video and audio input from compatible media players and gaming consoles, and smooth motion in action or sports programmes.

Boston Celtics: Danny Ainge thinks LeBron James taking ‘Donald Trump approach’
Considering how the Cavaliers were able to beat the 73-win team in game 7, it's hard to say LeBron is wrong. However, if he were to do so, Danny Ainge just did real damage to the chances of LeBron going to Boston.

Weather Channel App Accused Of Selling Users' Personal Data
The lawsuit seeks civil penalties up to $2,500 for each violation by the Weather Channel. The company is said to collect more than a billion pieces of location data per week.

HDMI 2.1 is the latest in the range of HDMI standards with a lot more bandwidth and new features being supported.

The company added that there is an inclusion of HDMI 2.1 ports. While you might be thinking, "didn't LG's TVs already support Alexa", then technically you're right. The flagship range includes 8K TVs, 88-inch Z9 OLED TVs, and 75-inch SM99 LCD TVs. Rather than being forced to use an external speaker to control your TV via Alexa, you can just hit the Amazon Prime Video button on your Magic Remote. Similarly, the α9 Gen 2 processor will optimize the audio output based on the content type and TV positioning in the room. In addition, LG's 2019 premium LCD TVs (SM9X and SM8X series) will be rolled out with a new name: NanoCell TV, to better highlight the picture enhancement provided by NanoCell technology (NanoColor), colour accuracy in wide viewing angle (NanoAccuracy) and ultra-narrow thin bezel with sleek design (NanoBezel). There's no mention of the usual middle-sitting G series TV, however, so we can guess its been scrapped.
