Celtic Signs George Weah's son On Loan From PSG

But Parkhead sources have denied the reports, just days after Celtic insiders confirmed another MLS player, Houston Dynamo forward Alberth Elis, was not on the club's radar.

Weah knew about the Glaswegian club from his father, the legendary George Weah, who played against Celtic, and both parents, George and Clar, have followed the career of Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers. It's all in the package - great team, great supporters, great stadium, great coaching staff, so it's a great place to come and learn.

Since flying into Dubai, he underwent a medical, signed for Celtic - went straight into training and then did a whole media row of interviews from Celtic's training camp.

Timothy Weah, the 18-year-old USA forward with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), has joined Scottish champions Celtic on a six-month loan deal, the Glasgow club announced on Monday. "That'll be interesting. I've never been before so I'm really excited for that".

"It's amusing because the day I had the visit, he DM'ed me on Instagram and he was like, 'So bro, are you coming, are you coming?'"

Tesla to break ground on Shanghai plant as trade war lingers

Rodgers told CelticTV: "We're a team that plays an aggressive game, an attacking game and I felt that was an area we were short in terms of our options".

Weah said he "received "a lot of offers" to go on loan this winter, but Celtic was the one that stood out for him".

Weah also knows about Celtic from Frenchman Odsonne Edouard, who had also been in the PSG academy before being transferred to Celtic.

"I went there knowing I had to put the work in to get where I wanted to be", he said. At the end of the day, I'm going to have to live with that for the rest of my life, whether I like it or not.

"I haven't played as many games as I'd like to", admitted the £15million man.
