Oscars 2019: Kevin Hart says he definitely won't return as host

Kevin continued to speak about the scandal on his SiriusXM show Straight From the Hart on Monday, taking the opportunity to apologize again. "I understand you", he continued, adding that he hopes the LGBTQ community can forgive him and accept he's a different person from the one who sent those tweets nearly a decade ago. "It's his choice as an American. then you can feel about it however you want".

But CNN's Don Lemon offered an emotional and thoughtful rebuttal to Hart's indifferent and indignant reaction, calling the plight of gay and black children a matter of "life and death", asking Hart to become an ally to a group of young Americans who live in danger due to cultural homophobia and backlash.

The comedian says he wants to join the fight for equality, but encourages LGBTQ listeners to recognize when someone owns up to their mistakes and wants to grow from them. "Where does the equality part come in?"

"Despite the efforts of former host Ellen DeGeneres, Kevin Hart will not reemerge as host of the 91st Academy Awards, multiple sources are telling Deadline", the outlet reported.

Hart added that with his future standup and comedy acts, he would also make sure he doesn't say or do anything offensive towards the community. "That's what I'm trying to say".

On Tuesday, Hart said the chances of him taking the gig were "very slim" as he was confronted by photographers while promoting his new film, The Upside, but teased that an announcement may be imminent. Right now, from a time perspective, I don't have the time [to return as host]...

Hart's "GMA" interview Wednesday capped off a roller coaster few weeks, which date back to when he was announced as the host for the Oscars on December 4. "I shouldn't have to prove the levels of love that I'm capable of giving". I'm not addressing it.

As for whether he'll host this year's Oscars after all, Hart gave a definitive "no" for the first time. She says its reps instantly replied that they still wanted the funnyman to be the night's MC.

"You may not like the way he said it, but he said it".

"You're not getting no more of my energy from it", he added. Further, he believes that anyone who wants to continue the discussion and won't accept the apologies that he has already made "means it's a problem with you". He took proudly to social media afterwards to announce it but his elation was short-lived.

Hart later came to her defense, saying: 'When did we get to the point where we forgot that we all learn, then we all have the ability to grow and with that growth comes a wealth of knowledge.
