Syria reportedly sack ex-Glory coach Stange

Skipper Chhetri added: "It was a tight game".

"Initially, I think, nobody expected us to be here", Constantine told ITV London.

Jordan's win means Syria need to defeat Australia to have any hope of qualifying to the tournament's knockout stages.

A win for India will secure them a spot in the next round, which would be a historic moment for the side which doesn't have a great record in the Asian Cup, while a win for the hosts will also bring them closer to qualification.

Entering the game after a 1-1 stalemate with Bahrain, UAE required full points full points, and the relief was palpable in their camp when Mubarak broke the deadlock. UAE capitalised on another defensive lapse as Ali Mabkhout doubled their advantage with a fine finish.
