Bernie Sanders apologizes again to female staffers on his 2016 presidential campaign

"To the women on my 2016 campaign who were harassed or mistreated, thank you, from the bottom of my heart for speaking out".

Sanders' principal campaign committee, Friends of Bernie Sanders, called Becker's alleged conduct "deplorable and fundamentally unacceptable" and announced that Becker "would not be a part of any future campaigns".

'The allegations that I have heard, that you have heard, speak to unacceptable behavior, that must not be tolerated in any campaign or in any workplace in our country, ' he noted.

"To the women in that campaign who were harassed or mistreated I apologise".

"Our standards, our procedures, our safeguards, were clearly inadequate, " Sanders said.

Robert Becker - who oversaw Sanders' campaign in Iowa and, as deputy national field director, subsequently lead the senator's efforts in California, Michigan and NY - allegedly approached the 20-year-old female staffer later that night and grabbed her wrists before forcibly kissing her, the woman and three additional sources cited by Politico claim.

Becker denied the allegations to Politico.

Politico reported Wednesday evening that Robert Becker, a top 2016 campaign advisor for Sen.

We did already know all of that! The investigation has not concluded and the public has not been notified of the final results. Since at least last summer, Trump's legal team has been drafting a rebuttal in preparation for Mueller's report.

Megyn Kelly & NBC Reach Exit Deal 3 Months After Blackface Controversy
The backlash to Kelly was swift and immediate, exceeding the outrage she generated for her remarks years ago about Santa's race. Kelly made a tearful apology to viewers following her blackface comments, but it proved to be her last appearance on NBC News.

Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Says She’s Running for President
Republican National Committee spokesman Michael Ahrens dismissed Gabbard's chances in a statement on Friday. After Donald Trump was elected, she met with the then president-elect to discuss the war in Syria.

During an unrelated event on Capitol Hill Thursday, Sanders told reporters that he had not been aware of the $30,000 settlement, according to the Post. Three other people who witnessed the incident or were told about it shortly after confirmed the account to Politico. "Then he moved his hands to her head and forcibly kissed her, putting his tongue in her mouth as he held her, the woman and other sources said".

"Candidates who allow people like Robert Becker to lead their organizations shouldn't earn the highest office in our government", said the woman.

The woman did not report the incident at the time since the campaign was finished but has come forward now as Becker has been involved with potential 2020 groundwork.

The woman said she informed Sanders's 2016 campaign manager Jeff Weaver of the alleged assault. "I was a little bit busy running around the country trying to make the case", Sanders said last week during a CNN interview. He mentioned that he had worked on strengthening federal sexual harassment policy in 2018.

The New York Times on January 2 published accounts from women who worked for the campaign complained of sexual harassment and pay disparities.

"Sanders already faces tough primary competition from several women, including Warren, Harris, Gillibrand, and maybe even Tulsi Gabbard who was a key supporter in 2016", he said.

The campaign of the 2016 presidential election in the United States was marred by episodes of sexual misconduct, especially by the then Republican candidate Donald Trump who eventually won the poll to become the president.
