Betts agrees to 1-year, $20 million deal with Sox

The Red Sox reached agreements with all 10 of their eligible players. His numbers during the 2018 season were nothing short of outstanding, and the best part is that he's only 26 years old; barely even in the prime of his career yet. Those who could not come to terms with teams are expected to head to an arbitration hearing.

Betts made $10.5 million last season.

Oct 14, 2018; Boston, MA, USA; Boston Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts (50) runs to first base on an RBI double in the eighth inning against the Houston Astros in game two of the 2018 ALCS playoff baseball series at Fenway Park. However, should the two sides fail to agree to a multi-year extension next offseason-Betts's last arbitration-eligible season before reaching free agency-the three-time All-Star could command an astronomical salary in his final year of team control; at the very least, Betts appears poised to eclipse-if not shatter-the $23MM record set by Josh Donaldson one year ago, which now marks the highest one-year arbitration salary ever. Bogaerts' salary projection sits at $11.9 million, while Holt could be in line for $3.4 million, according MLB Trade Rumors.
