Chelsea Turn Down Willian Malcom Swap Deal Approach from Barcelona

Willian will not be leaving Chelsea during the January transfer window.

FC Barcelona have reportedly reactivated their interest in a Chelsea star and offered €42 million plus one of their own players for their target. Barcelona then went ahead with Malcom.

€60m is a great value for a player like Willian, who is in the final stages of his prime and the current contract at Chelsea.

Spanish champions Barcelona have offered Chelsea a part swap deal involving cash and winger Malcom in return for Willian, according to the Telegraph.

The 21-year-old right wing has only played 363 minutes for Barca, however, scoring only two goals while suffering a pair of short-term injuries.

Barca have reportedly made a renewed approach, with Malcom thrown into the deal, which Chelsea are also thought to have refused. The Chelsea head coach also reiterated Willian's importance as a wide man to the squad.

"I didn't receive anything [about Willian] yesterday [Thursday]".

"If you ask me about the market you put me in trouble because I don't know how to answer".

"Willian is very important for us. But he's really very important for us so I think it's impossible for us to lose him in January".

Moreover, Chelsea have recently signed Christian Pulisic, who will probably further reduce the game time of Willian. Sarri cites off-the-ball movement and penalty box instinct as areas for improvement for the Brazil worldwide. "And he has the potential to score more".
