Gary Kubiak reportedly backs out of Denver OC job

Kubiak, 57, is now a senior personnel advisor for the Broncos and stepped down from the position as head coach after the 2016 season due to health concerns.

Gary Kubiak will not be the Denver Broncos' offensive coordinator, according to multiple sources.

The two sides were widely expected to reach a deal for Kubiak to run the offense under Vic Fangio. However, it now appears he's healthy enough to return to the sidelines.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, after lengthy discussions, the Broncos and Kubiak have chose to go in different directions due to disagreements regarding staffing and offensive philosophy. After one year away from football, Kubiak returned to the Broncos as an executive in 2017. Earlier this hiring season, the Broncos prohibited the Falcons and Bengals from speaking with Kubiak about their offensive coordinator openings, according to Schefter.
