Mortal Kombat 11 Gameplay Reveal Arrives Next Week - Here's The Cover Art

There's nothing more exciting than knowing that Mortal Kombat is still going strong after all these years. Ed Boon was supposed to be announcing the victor for best Sports/Racing game, but to our surprise, a shocking reveal for the next Mortal Kombat game popped up instead, giving us a release date and, surprisingly, a Nintendo Switch logo during the trailer.

Series co-creator Ed Boon has revealed the official cover art for Mortal Kombat 11.

You can see the cover art above - as per usual, it's focusing on Scorpion.

It will also be interesting to see what elements of gameplay will carry over from Mortal Kombat X and what will be incorporated from Injustice 2. This trailer has led many fans to assume that we'll get some sort of time travel gimmick in Mortal Kombat 11.

But no matter how many characters are revealed by NetherRealm, rumours have surfaced this week which strongly suggests that Ronda Rousey will be portraying Sonya Blade.

Danny Ainge doesn’t seem concerned about Marcus Morris shoving Jaylen Brown
"I like Marcus' and Jaylen's character and personalities and feistiness, and, like, I just think nothing of something like this". Morris and Brown had to be separated by Marcus Smart after a heated exchange that culminated in Morris shoving Brown.

Durable Wade dazzles against Celtics
The Boston Celtics have hit the midway point of the season and are now 25-16, good for fifth in the Eastern Conference. Derrick Jones Jr . scored 14, and Justise Winslow scored 13 points and added a career-high 11 assists for the Heat .

Betts agrees to 1-year, $20 million deal with Sox
Bogaerts' salary projection sits at $11.9 million, while Holt could be in line for $3.4 million, according MLB Trade Rumors. Those who could not come to terms with teams are expected to head to an arbitration hearing.

Should this project find favor with the fanbase, I'm guessing it'll finally gloss over Mortal Kombat: The Journey Begins. A GameStop Italy listing for the fighting game may have revealed some key features, including new fatalities, something called a "GoreTech" system and a new graphics engine.

What are you expecting to see at the community event next week?

Mortal Kombat 11 will be out on April 23, 2019, for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Make sure to tune into the event live on January 17 to find out for yourself, and you can expect our take on whatever is announced shortly after.

Unfortunately, which characters those folks will play remains unknown, though it's fair to assume that Steve Blum and Patrick Seitz will voice Sub-Zero and Scorpion, respectively, because they've done so in recent video games.
