Baby girl breaks into infectious laughter after hearing her sister’s voice

Scarlet Benjamin, who is now 11 months old, had a hard start to life.

Scarlet Benjamin, 11 months, had a hearing aid fitting at Atlanta Hearing Associates in Milledgeville, Georgia, on January 10.

Hearing voices clearly for the first time made Scarlet laugh uncontrollably as she started to discover a whole new world of sounds.

But when Scarlet was fitted with her first set of hearing aids her life and the lives of her big sister and mother were changed forever.

Her mother said that Scarlet's hearing was impaired by an antibiotic she was given in the neo-natal intensive care unit to treat an infection.

She wrote on Facebook: 'It has been a LONG and emotional experience. It appears the more Scarlet listens, the more she laughs. Benjamin wrote in the caption accompanying the clip.

Little Scarlet begins to giggle hysterically when she hears her sister saying hello to her. The mother told Fox 5 that it was probably the first time that Scarlet had ever heard anything clearly.

"Baby sister. Baby sister", Scarlet's sister, 4-year-old Halie, says in the video.

The baby's adorable reaction to her mother and sister's voices has gone viral with the video racking up more than 1,600 views on Facebook.

"I am so blessed and thankful for Atlanta Hearing Associates in Milledgeville for all that they have done for our baby girl", she wrote. "Anyway, enjoy one of the absolute best days of our lives".
