Yet again, Samsung is expected to put an in-display fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S10, the same feature it has skipped in the Galaxy Note 8, the Galaxy S9, and the upcoming Galaxy Note 9. This is a core component of its "Intelligent Scan" facial unlock.

Two factor authentication usually takes time to either recognise a part and then type a code. That seems to be the implication of rumors that Samsung is ditching the iris scanner in the Galaxy S10 in favor of both 3D face recognition and FOD.

According to The Bell, Samsung is developing the face-scanning technology with Israeli 3D tech company Mantis Vision, and the feature will directly compete with Apple's Face ID launched a year ago (which has faced some criticism).
