Moto G7 Power Hands-on Review: Huge 5,000 mAh Battery for $249

With its 5000mAh battery, the Moto G7 Power should be on your radar if battery life is a priority when you're shopping for a new smartphone.

That Motorola managed to squeeze such a big battery into a body that really doesn't feel that big is a feat worth admiring, even if it made me wish the company had done the same for the G7.

That suggests who Motorola's target audience is: budget-conscious consumers looking for a phone that will last longer between charging sessions -and that's not a bad pitch to customers at any price tier. Just like the G7 Play, it is equipped with a Snapdragon 632 chipset but has 3GB of RAM inside. Not overly powerful, but not bargain bin-quality either.

The G7 Play is the cheapest of the models and features a 5.7-inch HD+ display (1520×720), 2GB of RAM and 32 GB of expandable storage.

In my experience testing older versions of Moto G phones, these mid-range devices are almost indistinguishable in looks and performance from the high-end tier of Android phones.

Rounding off the lineup pint-sized Moto G7 Play, which offers a 5.7in HD+ screen, a 13MP rear-mounted camera with PDAF and "60 per cent more power" than its predecessor. Again, the Geekbench listing tells us the G7 Plus will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, and not the Snapdragon 632 as previously rumored.

The Moto G7 Play is the most stripped down, affordable smartphone in the G7 family. Storage is also limited to 32GB plus microSD slot while they both pick up 8MP selfie-cams fitted into their wider notches. Samsung will roll out the Galaxy S10 family this month and with it will come prices that will be decidedly higher than what Motorola just outlined. That's about the biggest battery I've seen on a mainstream phone, and Motorola says it should provide 3 days of battery life.

AI-powered features like Smart Composition and Auto-Smile capture will help you get the best shot.

The Moto G7 Power will launch at T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile.

New Zealand 158 for eight in second T20 against India
Rohit Sharma (50) and Rishabh Pant (40) were among the runs as India chased down the required target of 159 with 7 balls to spare. The turning point of the innings was Hardik Pandya dismissing de Grandhomme and the home team never recovered from that blow.

All of them have a fingerprint scanner integrated with the Motorola logo on the back which is a nice touch, and... nicely, all 3 have a P2i nano coating for water repellence.

While it took perfectly acceptable, but not especially outstanding photos, the G7 Power does get a few new modes, along with the rest of the G7 line. The smartphone comes with 27W Turbo Charger.

The Moto G-series, a fan-favorite mid-ranger for years, is entering its seventh generation.

Motorola is back in 2019 with their budget-friendly line of G7 handsets.
