Pep Guardiola left stunned by Benjamin Mendy's Hong Kong trip

Manchester City's Benjamin Mendy has sparked controversy after an Instagram post led journalists to question a confused Pep Guardiola whether the full back was in Hong Kong this week.

The World Cup-winning Manchester City full-back has had his fair share of injury trouble since arriving in England from Monaco in 2017, suffering another setback after he came off the bench in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final at the end of January.

However, the situation was cleared up by Mendy shortly after, but via his Twitter account this time.

'Wow, I didn't know, ' Guardiola said.

'He's injured, it's not easy - meniscus.
