Rick Zamperin: Toronto Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri is going all in

Memphis Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace today announced that the Grizzlies acquired center Jonas Valanciunas (YO-nahs vah-lahn-CHEW-nas), guard Delon Wright (deh-LON), guard/forward C.J. Miles and a 2024 second round draft pick from the Toronto Raptors for center Marc Gasol.

The Memphis Grizzlies have reportedly decided on a trade featuring All-Star big man Marc Gasol. Both teams have yet to confirm the deal. The 34-year-old Gasol is a three-time National Basketball Association all-star who is averaging 15.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.1 steals a game in 2018. He is averaging 6.9 points, 2.2 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per game this season.

The Memphis Grizzlies were expected to make waves ahead of the National Basketball Association trade deadline, and roughly one hour before the final buzzer, they did just that. The Spaniard is slated to make $24.1 million this year and has a player option for $25.6 million next season.

It was a cool idea, but for some, there was one problem: We had no idea when the captains selected everyone to be on their teams. Antetokounmpo drafted Ben Simmons , much to James' dismay, but they agreed to work out a trade after the draft was complete.

Luckily we worked with our United States buddies and were able to stop the shipment before it reached our shores. Three raids in Sydney on Thursday led to the arrest of two men aged 25 and 31, and seizure of 2kg of cocaine.

The 31-year-old Miles is averaging 5.5 points and 1.7 rebounds in the 2018-19 campaign.

The move is Raptors president Masai Ujiri's biggest trade-deadline deal since returning to the team in 2013. Of his first six selections, five will become free agents at season's end. InsideHoops.com exclusively spoke with three-time NBA All-Defensive team member Serge Ibaka and one-time NBA All-Defensive team member Danny Green about adding Gasol after the Raptors defeated the Atlanta Hawks 119-101 at State Farm Arena last night.

Valanciunas is in a similar spot with his contract and has a player option for next year that's just north of $17.6 million.
