Knee sprain not serious for Celtics' Irving

Knee sprain not serious for Celtics' Irving

Both All-Stars would be back this season.

After the Los Angeles Clippers outscored Boston 75-44 after Kyrie Irving left with a right knee sprain Saturday night to claim a 123-112 victory at TD Garden.

The Celtics blew an 18-point lead against the Los Angeles Lakers two nights earlier.

"If [this is who we are] we won't last long", coach Brad Stevens said. "There's an answer out there and we need to find it".

The loss was one thing, the comments from Marcus Morris after was another. You got guys hanging their heads. It's not fun. We're not competing at a high level. Even though we're winning, it's not fun. They're enjoying everything, they're playing together, and they're playing to win.

The Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner also announced on Monday that he has launched an investigation in the case. But if anyone was trying to exert pressure on Wilson-Raybould to influence the legal proceedings, they crossed the line.

Venezuela’s Juan Guaido warns military on blocked aid
But a Venezuelan doctor who was part of a protest Sunday accused Maduro of sinking Venezuelan medicine to a "medieval" level. Maduro is refusing to step down or call for a new election, accusing the US of orchestrating a coup attempt.

"I just want to win and I want to have fun - we gotta have fun doing this thing man", he continued.

Several individuals have contributed to the problem. Joel Embiid led the team with 37 points on 12 of 16 shooting with 14 rebounds and three assists, Tobias Harris seems to be fitting in just fine as he added 22 points while JJ Redick chipped in with 21 points and five assists.

Gordon Hayward scored 19 to pace the Celtics, who just absorbed a heartbreaking 129-128 loss to the Lakers with Rajon Rondo burying the buzzer-beater.

The Celtics may yet make an addition on the buyout market - perhaps Marcus Morris' twin Markieff or Enes Kanter - but they can not afford to lose Irving for an extended period of time. "I'm really looking forward to getting them in", Doc Rivers said. At halftime I told the guys everybody's playing uptight. Jayson Tatum, 20, hasn't elevated to stardom yet and has seen his shooting percentages dip.

While the National Basketball Association trade-deadline talk surrounding Anthony Davis clearly affected the young Lakers, the deadline passing with Davis still on the New Orleans Pelicans, and thus putting the Celtics front-and-center for this summer's sweepstakes, might have impacted the C's younger players - namely Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown - who now could be questioning their future with the franchise.
