Michelle Obama shares text exchange with mom from Grammys night

One can nearly imagine the playful smirk on Shields' face here; not only did Obama appear alongside little known stars like Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys, and Jada Pinkett Smith, but she received the loudest applause from the crowd.

While viewers worldwide fully lost it, one woman remained unimpressed: Marian Robinson, aka Michelle's mom.

"I guess you were a hit at the Grammys" the proud mom wrote with an emoji.

It appears Michelle Obama received a reality check from her mom following her appearance at the Grammys.

As screenshots of the text exchange show, Ms Robinson asked her daughter: "Did you meet any of the real stars or did you run right after you were done". The "real stars" OH MY LORD.

The conversation about how Robinson apparently heard about her daughter's Grammy appearance from someone other than her daughter was highly relatable to many people. Michelle continued, to which Marian confirmed (maybe?) with a simple "Yeah".

Toronto Raptors to sign veteran point guard Jeremy Lin
The five three-pointers are the most Harris has ever made in a single quarter, and matched his season-high for an entire game. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported earlier in the day that he is expected to join the Raptors once he clears waivers.

Australia to reopen controversial Christmas Island detention centre after historic government defeat
Speaking before the vote, Morrison said that the changes would encourage people-smugglers and provoke a new flow of arrivals. Medical evacuations have become a loophole in Australia's policy of exiling asylum seekers who arrive by boat.

United Kingdom pitches 'global Britain' by flexing military muscle: defense minister
Deployment of the new aircraft carrier , which is likely to take place in 2021, will also include two squadrons of F-35 stealth jets to "stand up to those who flout global law".

Despite the friendly banter between Obama and her mother, the two actually have a very close relationship, as Robinson revealed in her first every televised interview past year. I just had to share it with all of you.

Obama wrote that she thought she had told her about it, and then added a Peak Daughter clapback.

'I felt like this was going to be a very hard life for both of them, ' she said of her granddaughters, who were seven and ten when their father took over as President of the United States.

Obama told her mom that she was "a real star" but she brushed her off.

I would think all Shields needs to know about Obama's celebrity status is that she is BFFs with Beyoncé.

What do you think of the exchange?
