The company has not stated that this is an example of a product that it will launch, but instead has indicated that the device will allow people to experience 5G speeds.

The showdown of several smartphone OEM's will happen at this year's MWC 2019 trade show, with OnePlus being one of the entrants.

OnePlus has been playing with teasers for its first 5G smartphone for quite some time.

We're now less than two weeks away from MWC 2019, and almost all major smartphone makers will make their presence felt.

The phone will diverge from OnePlus' main family of flagship phones, which includes the OnePlus 6T, and will be one of the first previews many will get to see of a 5G phone. However, 5G will no doubt roll out quicker in markets such as Europe and North America than in India, and OnePlus likely want to have its devices ready for this well in advance. To recollect, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau announced the coming of a 5G phone at Qualcomm Snapdragon summit where the chip maker launched the Snapdragon 855 SoC which is going to power most flagships this year including the most anticipated Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+.
