FSU football lands Wisconsin quarterback Alex Hornibrook

He missed multiple games late in the year while dealing with concussion issues.

Former Wisconsin quarterback Alex Hornibrook will be transferring to Florida State, according to 247Sports' Noles 247.com and other sources close to the situation - including ESPN on Sunday.

It may not be the future at the quarterback position for FSU football, but for 2019 it's two steps forward from what things looked like just over one month ago.

He completed 59.5 percent of his passes last season with 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Florida State is in desperate need of depth at quarterback, after Deondre Francois was kicked off the team in early February. Last month, Hornibrook announced he would transfer from Wisconsin after he graduates from business school in May.

The former Wisconsin quarterback started the last three seasons for the Badgers but chose to leave the program after winter workouts following an injury-riddled redshirt-junior season in 2018.

Wisconsin began the 2018 season ranked in the Top 5 nationally, but finished 8-5. In 2017, when Francois was injured, James Blackman filled in. He competed with Francois for the starting role entering 2018, Taggart's first season as FSU's head coach, but Francois won the job.
