Facebook, Instagram allegedly down worldwide, incites social media panic

Facebook has acknowledged that its family of apps is going through troubles and promises to resolve the issue ASAP. While this process won't affect your account, you temporarily won't be able to access the site.

"We're working on getting it fixed as soon as we can", a message told many users as they tried to post content. "We're aware that some people are now having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps", Facebook tweeted, pledging "We're working to resolve the issue as soon a possible".

Facebook users have taken to Twitter to share that the social media network is allegedly completely down.

Facebook-owned apps Instagram and WhatsApp also were experiencing performance issues, according to some users.

Many report being unable to post, share, or like. That outage was the second time that month.

It is still unclear when two of the biggest social media networks will be back up and running.
