Reports indicated New Orleans turned to Murray to fill Ingram's spot when the Saints and Ingram couldn't reach an agreement on a contract extension.

The Baltimore Ravens are thought to be the favorite to land the former first-round drafted running back from Alabama. During his two season in Minnesota, Murray averaged 710 rushing yards and seven touchdowns per year.

Previous reporting indicated that Ingram's most likely landing spot is Baltimore. After returning from a four-game suspension to open the season, Ingram shared the running-back work with Alvin Kamara. He made the Pro Bowl in both 2017 and 2014. In 11 games (six starts), the former undrafted free agent had 137 attempts for 718 yards (5.2 per carry) and two touchdowns, along with two catches for 20 yards. According to ESPN.com, the Saints spent the past few days trying to hammer out a deal with Ingram to keep him in New Orleans, but the two sides couldn't agree on a number. However, Thomas played every game the first six seasons of his career and he has been one of the league's most impactful safeties - smart and tough, effective as a pass defender, run defender and playmaker with 28 career interceptions.
