Trump calls Apple CEO 'Tim Apple'

Trump has since offered up two contrasting explanations for his gaffe at a White House event last week. But Trump is adamant he didn't do it - even though it was televised and we all saw him do it.

In a tweet, Trump said he didn't mistake the name, just tried to shorten it.

According to Axios, while entertaining RNC donors at Mar-a-Lago this weekend, Mr. Trump was heard saying that the media is once again spreading "fake news" when reporting about his "Tim Apple" remark.

The report said that he had told puzzled Republicans that he'd really said "Tim Cook Apple", but that "Cook" was said very quietly, then ignored by the media.

Tracing back to Friday's laugh on the Tim Apple saga, US President Donald Trump has clarified on Twitter that referring to Apple's chief executive officer Tim Cook as Tim Apple was to "save time and words".
