Lilly Singh to host a late night show on NBC

Lilly's show will include comedy segments and she will also be interviewing guests.

The new show, which launches in September, will make her the only woman to host a late-night talk show on a major network, the only woman of colour on late-night television, and the only LGBT+ person.

"A huge shoutout to all the women who have been before me and are now in the space because I couldn't have done it without them paving the path", Singh says in her announcement video on Jimmy Fallon's show.

Lilly will fit right in with the slate of late-night hosts, as she's no stranger to making millions of people laugh and already counts celebrities among her friends (hi, Selena Gomez). The move comes in the wake of Carson Daly announcing he's stepping down as the host of Last Call. "But I do think it's a little awesome".

The network has selected Canadian actress and YouTube sensation Lilly Singh to take over its 1:35 a.m. talk show slot. "Now that is a dream come true", Singh added.

Singh will be replacing Last Call With Carson Daily.

Comedian and YouTube star Lilly Singh will take over outgoing NBC late-night host Carson Daly's time slot, the network announced Thursday, making her the only female late-night host now on a major broadcast network when her new show premieres in September. "I'm thrilled to bring it to life on NBC, and I hope m parents consider this to be as exciting as a grandchild". She's been posting videos since 2019.

"I can't even believe I am writing this caption", she wrote. The stand-up comedian has amassed a YouTube empire with 14 million subscribers, and earned $10.5 million for her views by 2017, according to Forbes. But now I'm fully embracing them as my superpowers.

Alongside her YouTube career, Singh has also appeared in several films including Bad Moms, Ice Age: Collision Course and HBO's Fahrenheit 451. She is also a New York Times bestselling author with her book "How To Be A Bawse: A Guide To Conquering Life".
