‘Much More to Come’ in Lisa Page Revelations

‘Much More to Come’ in Lisa Page Revelations

Page exchanged thousands of text messages with her lover and then-top FBI agent Peter Strzok about the investigations into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Trump 2016 campaign.

The Strzok transcript is the third set Mr. Collins has released, following ones from Justice Department official Bruce Ohr and Ms. Page herself.

(FoxNews.com) Former FBI lawyer Lisa Page admitted under questioning from Texas Republican Rep. John Ratcliffe last summer that "the FBI was ordered by the Obama DOJ not to consider charging Hillary Clinton for gross negligence in the handling of classified information", the congressman alleged in a social media post late Tuesday, citing a newly unearthed transcript of Page's closed-door testimony.

Both Page and Strzok no longer work at the FBI - Page resigned and Strzok was sacked.

In some of the messages - such as a 2016 text in which Strzok characterized the FBI's Russian Federation probe as an "insurance policy" in the event Trump won the election - Strzok said he had not meant to convey deep animus against Trump but instead to stress to Page that polls showing Trump was not likely to win "should not get in the way of us doing our job responsibly to protect the national security".

But when you say advice you got from the Department, you're making it sound like it was the Department that told you: "You're not going to charge gross negligence because we're the prosecutors and we're telling you we're not going to-", Ratcliffe asked Page before the former Federal Bureau of Investigation lawyer interrupted by saying "That is correct", as the Texas Republican concluded his sentence with "bring a case based on that".

Strzok was removed in 2017 from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigative team following the discovery of the messages with attorney Lisa Page.

Hannity asked if Collins there would be accountability for the revelations released in the transcripts.

"No he won't. We'll stop it", Strzok replied. The Department of Justice under President Trump has reportedly launched an investigation into whether the foundation acted as a "pay-to-play" scheme.

Strzok also said Comey initially concluded Clinton had shown "gross negligence" in how she handled classified information - a finding that could lead to charges - but dialed that back to "extreme carelessness" by the time he finished his memo. "And, we're going to say, we're going to get this out and we're going to put it in ways that people can easily understand, not a large dump, we're going to take it methodically as we go, as we get them cleared, and we're going to get them out to the American people".

He said he didn't recall specifically writing it, but says he now thinks the "we" he was talking about was the country at large.
