Several dead in Brazil school shooting

Police say they found a revolver, a bow and arrow and items that appeared to be explosives.

The two gunmen, wearing masks and hoodies, walked into the Raul Brasil school in Suzano, Sao Paulo State, Brazil, and started shooting at 9:30 a.m. when students were on a snack break.

At least 17 other people, mostly children, were also shot at the Raul Brasil primary school on Wednesday and taken to hospitals, police said in a written statement.

While gun crime is common in Brazil, mass shootings like this nature are not.

That is all the information that is available at this time.

Two masked former students carrying a variety of deadly weapons burst into a school outside Sao Paulo Wednesday and left a bloodbath before killing themselves.

The unidentified gunmen, who appeared to be between 20 and 25 years of age, shot and killed a worker at a nearby auto wash before their attack at the Raul Brasil school, police said.

Latin America's largest nation has the largest number of annual homicides in the world, but school shootings are rare.

"It's the saddest scene I've witnessed in my whole life", Doria said.

Children climbed and jumped over a wall that surrounds the school building, then sprinted down streets, screaming for help, security-camera footage from homes nearby showed.
