‘Game of Thrones’ Final Episode Lengths, Dates Revealed

Earlier this month, HBO released a dramatic trailer for the final season, in which fans were given a glimpse into the epic battles and drama to come.

However, HBO have now officially confirmed the durations for all six episodes and we're delighted to say that the average duration for the episodes in Season 8 will be 72 minutes.

The following episodes will air over the course of the next five Sundays (4/21, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19), with each one increasing in running time, HBO announced on Friday.

The official announcement is a bit closer to expectations for the show, especially in the back part of the eighth season.

Here's when each episode will air and its estimated length. Episode three follows on Sunday, April 28 clocking in at longest, an hour and 22 minutes.

Episode Four will air on Sunday, May 5 and be 1 hour and 18 minutes long.

Former HBO chief executive Richard Plepler made headlines with a recent Variety interview, in which he raved about the feature film quality of the upcoming final season of Game of Thrones.

As previously reported, Season 8 will kick off April 14 with a 54-minute episode. Make sure you've cleared out your Sunday nights for the following dates, because it's unlikely you'll have time to do anything other than watching the feature-length episodes and talking about them for hours afterwards. We can't wait to see what Game of Thrones season 8 has in store, but you can bet that you won't be left wanting after the credits roll for the last time.
