Belgium global Hazard has been in excellent form this season for the Blues, scoring 13 goals and setting up another 11 in the Premier League.

After confirming the return of Zinedine Zidane, Florentino Perez quipped that he would happily take Paris Saint Germain duo Kylian Mbappe and Neymar - but Chelsea star Eden Hazard remains their top summer target.

Madrid have stepped up their pursuit of Hazard this week following Zinedine Zidane's return as head coach, making first contact with Chelsea to discuss his availability.

Hazard is out of contract at Stamford Bridge next year and has offered no indication that he is going to sign an extension, leaving Chelsea will little choice but to cash in for a nine-figure fee.

Hazard has been linked with a switch to Real Madrid for quite some time now.

Drogba is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: "Why should he leave?"

"He had fever after the Premier League match [against Wolves] for two days, so yesterday we made a decision to leave him at home to recover for the next match", Sarri said of Higuain. Recently, Chelsea star Emerson Palmieri admitted fears regarding the future of his teammate, who he believes is one of the best in the world.

"This club is still young and we need people like him to improve the quality in terms of Champions League trophies in the room, he can help us".

Speaking in a news conference ahead of Chelsea's clash with Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League round of 16, Sarri insisted he is not dwelling on the uncertainty surrounding Hazard's future but reiterated that he will respect the Belgian's decision.

However, the interest in Hazard remains for Perez, and the fact Zidane and the Belgian have a huge mutual respect - something they have spoken about - only seems to confirm the likelihood of a deal this summer.
