DiCaprio Posts Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Poster On Instagram

Last week, word began to spread that the first trailer for Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was en route, and now it appears those rumors were accurate: this morning, Sony released the film's first poster, with the film's first teaser trailer expected to arrive shortly (we're guessing tomorrow). As for the poster design itself, you don't really get more confident than, "I have Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt together in one movie", so putting them front and center is a wise marketing move. However, this poster has the added uncanny effect of looking overly Photoshopped, like DiCaprio and Pitt weren't even in the same room to shoot it - which is a shame because that first image looked so cool. The Twitter caption for the poster simply reads "Hollywood".

In Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Pitt and DiCaprio play two buddies striving for greatness in 1969 Los Angeles. Tarantino movie posters are usually very good - think of Uma Thurman smoking on the one-sheet for Pulp Fiction, or the strikingly yellow artwork for Kill Bill - but Once Upon a Time in Hollywood leaves a lot to be desired.

The film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is scheduled to hit theaters on July 26, 2019.
