Queen firmly rules out Harry and Meghan's plans to go solo

Last month, Meghan flew to NY to celebrate the impending arrival with her A-lister pals including Amal Clooney, Serena Williams, Gayle King and Abigail Spencer.

Following last week's announcement that the queen supports the separation of Harry and William's households, the Sunday report states Harry and Meghan were hoping for complete royal freedom - something the monarchy just can not allow.

"The Queen has given permission for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex to base their Household Office at Buckingham Palace", the statement continued.

According to a new report out in The Sunday Times, Meghan and Harry have lobbied for an autonomous new court to be helmed under their office as an independent outfit, but Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, were reportedly not feeling up to grant the request.

"They wanted their household to be entirely independent of Buckingham Palace, but were told "no", a royal source told The Times.

Harry and William grew up in Kensington Palace, with William now living in a large apartment at the palace with wife Kate and their three kids, while Harry and Meghan have been staying in a nearby two-bedroom cottage also on the palace grounds.

"It's a further reminder of the plans being put in place behind the scenes for the eventual changing of the guard and the reign of Charles III", she points out.
