Disney unveiled a new trailer for the "live-action" remake of the 1994 animated classic. That 2016 movie grossed almost $1 billion worldwide, and The Lion King will use the same computer technology that brought The Jungle Book to vibrant life. The trailer gives us an early look at how both of these characters look and sound, and it's quite impressive. Maybe I'm the audience for this after all.

Disney has set a July 19, 2019 release date for The Lion King, which is now the only movie slated for release on that date.

Fans of the original animated classic will see echoes of many iconic scenes and locations, including Pride Rock, the stampede and Simba's departure and return. When Simba goes into exile, he relies on two newfound friends-Seth Rogen (Sausage Party, Neighbors) lends his comedic chops to naïve warthog Pumbaa, and Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street, American Horror Story) joins the cast as know-it-all meerkat Timon.
