Kohli named Wisden's 'Leading Cricketer' for third straight year

Virat Kohli was Wednesday named as one of Wisden´s Five Cricketers of the Year and also became the first player to win the award for leading cricketer in the world in three successive years.

As for the Five Cricketers of the Year, he shared the same with England's Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Rory Burns and Tammy Beaumont.

During 2018, India captain Kohli scored five Test hundreds and amassed an impressive 1,322 runs - 299 more than any other player.

Rashid Khan, the Afghanistan leg-spinner, was named the Leading Twenty20 Cricketer for the second year in a row.

India captain Kohli rounds off the quintet after hitting 593 runs at 59.30, including two tons, during his team's Test series in England.

"Praising the batting display of the Virat Kohli, Wisden editor Lawrence Booth said, 'Despite finishing on the losing side, India captain Virat Kohli shone with the bat, laying to rest his struggles in England in 2014".
