Jason West, co-founder of Infinity Ward & Respawn, has joined Epic Games

Before co-founding Infinity Ward alongside Vince Zampella and Grant Collier, West had been part of the team that worked on Medal of Honor: Allied Assault at 2015, Inc. for Electronic Arts. But now West is back, and he's joined forces with billion-dollar juggernaut Epic Games.

Epic Games may have something in development.

Geoff Keighley games industry veteran shared a new on Twitter that Epic Games has hired Jason who was the co-founder of Infinity Ward and Respawn Entertainment. What that could be, however, is unknown.

At Infinity Ward, West had a hands-on role through most of the Call of Duty series, including the WWII-themed originals and the first two Modern Warfare games, which helped to redefine modern shooters.

It's not clear if Jason West is working directly on Fortnite at Epic Games as of now. From what I hear West, who lives in North Carolina, has been in the office for about a month. Epic has put out titles in various degrees of early access for much of the past few years, but nothing's caught on the way Fortnite has.

Respawn's latest project in the in the Titanfall franchise is the hit battle royale game Apex Legends. Considering his pedigree, it's not hard to see why.

At current Epic Games have offered no announcement regarding hiring West.
